How different is Amitriptyline compared to Nortriptyline (I've TMJ and tinnitus, was prescribed Amitriptyline)?
Would Nortriptyline do a better job than Amitriptyline?I know it was developed as an anti depressant but has " off label" uses. I'm taking one 10mg tablet a day lowest dose possible. It's supposed to help neurological pain I think and tinnitus but don't have a clue how it's supposed to work. Been taking it for a week and don't notice a difference, guess it's too early to tell if it'll help but my hunch is it won't do much good until such time as the TMJ is dealt with probably the actual cause of the tinnitus Also on Ponstan Ponstal in the US 50mg three times a day for pain relief, it's Mefenamic acid. Thanks.
