Hi bellaellaella, We're in the exact same situation except I'm 18. I wasn't diagnosed with an ear infection but a dull ear drum which means liquid behind the ear, inflammation and perhaps a cold/ infection. I've had tinnitus for 2 months as well, as it began in November, I too miss the silence I took for granted back when I did not have this problem. From what I know, it could go at anytime from now to a year so there's still plenty of time for it to go. I sometimes hear it over everything as well and it sometimes changes, I find myself sometimes worrying if it might get louder or if it's changing to a worse sound, or if it will start in my left ear as it hasn't yet. The best advice I have is to try and not dwell on it, as this has upset me as well, accept it for the time being and just hope that it will go, you can always go back to the docs to see if the ear is still infected or if it's still swollen. I don't know about you, but when I gulp/ swallow, I can hear a popping noise in the affected ear? As for sleeping, I've learnt to try and just distract myself with my dreams as this is enough to make me almost forget the noise, during the day if it gets bad, try listening to some music you like or classic *violins is GREAT to hide the noise*, but make sure it's not too loud, just enough to hide the tinnitus :) Be strong, it gets easier to cope with the longer we have it, and we have time on our side! I hope yours may go very soon, but until then I wish that you can have the inner peace that doesn't suffer from whatever life chucks at it! Hope my experience helps, if you wish to learn more about my story of it and the ups and downs I've had (rest assured it has brought me to tears once or twice as well) then just let me know and I'll add you as a friend!
