I have tinnitus in my left ear and I cannot figure out the cause?
I am only 28 and I am losing the hearing in my left ear. I have had an MRI and audio tests. The MRI showed nothing but the audio test shows that I am losing my hearing staring with deaper tone and now moving into the midtones. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to stop it? My right ear is perfectly clear.

I have tinnitus, but I'm deaf in that ear. How can this be?
A few months ago I lost the hearing in my left ear due so several ongoing ear infections throughout childhood that were never treated properly while I was in care. I now wear a hearing aid for that ear and am almost completely deaf now although this hasn't stopped the recurrence of such ear infections. One of which I have right now along with tinnitus which means I have the sensation of sound in my deaf ear its like a very high pitched noise. I'm confused as to how I have this as of course I can't hear anything in that ear. Being deaf in one ear is strange enough without this going on. I've been reading some stuff on tinnitus on the internet but none of the sites can explain how this can happen to a deaf person. Any one know?
Can you get tinnitus from a middle ear infection?
Over the past couple of days I've had a mild sore throat and I've been sneezing a lot. Starting yesterday or the night before I've also noticed a high pitched but not loud ringing in my ears, as well as the sound that speakers make when they're plugged into something with the volume turned up but not playing anything, y'know that kind of like " shhhh" sound. Today, starting around 4 24 AM when ringing woke me up, I've also noticed that my ears and head feel a little sore. Could this be an ear infection? I know I need to take it up with my doctor for a secure diagnosis, but since I have work I won't be able to do that til Friday or Saturday. Do you think it can wait that long?Also I work at McDonalds. I don't THINK I'm suffering from noise induced hearing loss I've been here for over a month already, and I think I would have noticed something before if I were losing my hearing.
Is this tinnitus or not?
i can hear a high pitch noise if i press very hard against my left ear and block it in a quite room..if i press it gently i can hear a normal kinda like sea shell kinda noise
A question about tinnitus....?
I have a friend, who has tinnitus, and she's going to see a hearing therapist tomorrow about it.The thing is, she's wondering and worried about what this tinnitus is doing, and what the aids are, and how they actually help with tinnitus.I know what they look like as I've seen these shapes of the aid before, but I have no idea what this aid does to help with the tinnitus, and how it helps. So I've come to ask you lot, those who've experienced tinnitus and have aids for them possibly. She also found some information about it, such as The key here is that the therapeutic noise is not allowed to completely cover the tinnitus noise and should be only barely perceptible over the hearing threshold.And to be honest....she nor I have absolutely no idea what that means either. S I don't have tinnitus myself, so I am completely at loss here, and she has it, and it's her first time. Temporary tinnitus from scuba diving and i think a cold. When will it go away? What caused it?
I have tinnitus right now and have had it for a few days. I have had a cold for about a week and have scuba dived six times. I have tinnitus right now, a high pitched ringing in my ears that sounds like that high pitched tv noise when you turn it on that only young people can hear. I am only 18. I have not been exposed to loud noises or anything. When will this go away? What do you think caused it? My mom thinks it is from putting a lot of pressure on my ears because of the cold and then equalizing my ears by blowing under water, so she says it was double the pressure on the ears and she thinks that is what did it. what do you think?
