I think i have it it sounds like shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh in the back of my head when im at school in the kitchen i cant hear it i think.... but in my bedroom i defo can is this tinnitus ? it dont annoy me cuz its quite is it in my head or is it a mild case odf tinnitus???????? tnx soo much inm such a pussy wen it cums 2 health lol x

You either have a build up of wax or fluid in the middle ear. Tinnitus is a constant noise which is distracting and impossible to escape.

No tinnitus is a high pitched ringing sound... what you can hear is the blood pumping through your veins/ artery's.... you probably have a build up of wax in your inner ear....

Mine at the moment sounds like a whooshing ,creaking sound but that's because I have a cold ,usually its like shhhhh. My husband has a severe case in both ears due to damage from loud noise at work and his is a high pitched whistle with a whoosing sound. EDIT Well I have been diagnosed with this complaint and mine isnt a build up of wax ,so not everyone has the same symptoms.

It can sound like when a radio is slightly off tune, high pitched whistling similar to an old television warming up Some people suffer with it all the time and it affects thier every day live, myself i have a fine whistling in my ear that i only hear if i concentrate on it. Late at night as the world around quitens down the noise in my ear seems louder.

It sounds a little like putting a sea shell to your ear.its really annoying. i listen to music on my earphones to get rid of it.
