Ringing in ear when sort of moving my bottom jaw to the back of my mouth, 13 years old, male?

Question: Ringing in ear when sort of moving my bottom jaw to the back of my mouth, 13 years old, male?

Say I moved the bottom part of my jaw to the back of my mouth, I would get this mild ringing in my ears, what do you think it is and what is causing it? Another question: Rarely (when it's quiet), I will get this ringing in my ear that lasts like 5 seconds and goes away. One time at school I got this ringing in my right ear and lost some hearing in that ear for about 20- 30 seconds. I also though yesterday that I lost some hearing in my left ear, but I am pretty sure I just imagined that, they are the only times they have happened (I think) and I'm 13 years old and a male. What could it be?

This is completely normal, it happens to me all the time. If it gets serious, tell your parents or ask your doctor.

I think the ringing is called tinitus. I got that too. I'm 13 and a female. It started when i cleaned my ear then the ringing began especially on quiet times but it happens in my left ear only. And the only problem is, i don't know why you lose your hearing. maybe it's because you listen to really loud noise such as listening to headphones...

It is a tinnitus, it is not a disease but if it occurs every time, it maybe due to an underlying ear disorder. Tinnitus (pronounced / tɪˈnaɪtəs/ or / ˈtɪnɪtəs/ ,[1] from the Latin word tinnītus meaning "ringing " is the perception of sound within the human ear in the absence of corresponding external sound. Tinnitus can be intermittent or it can be continuous in which case it can be the cause of great distress. In some individuals, the intensity of tinnitus can be changed by shoulder, head, tongue, JAW, or eye movements.[8] en.wikipedia.org/ wiki/ Tinnitus

Jack - Have you told your parents? They may take you to a doc to make sure everything is ok first. I doubt you have a serious problem, though (get it looked at for sure). Your jaw joint - called the TMJ (temporal mandibular joint) is one of the most complex joints in your body - lots happening there. I have a similar problem - can't chew gum because my ears will pop & hurt. You're kind of young for tinnitus - do you listen to ipod music loud? That can damage your ears fast. You may have allergies, an inner ear infection - or maybe you just strained your TMJ. My advice - tell your parents who may take you to your doc to be sure all is well. Most likely, it's something very minor and will go away on its own. Hope this helps. Dan
