Question: Ringing in ear help!!!?

I just came back about an hour and a half ago from jamming (playing drums, 2 guitars, bass) with my friends for abour 2- 3 hours, and my right ear will not stop ringing! It feels slightly numb too, as if you were hit by something really hard in the ear, but not nearly that extreme. Is this temporary, and if so how long with it last? How long should I wait to see if it goes away before I go to a doctor?

Oh, no worries! The ringing in your ear, is form the music that you nd your friends played. Youre ear becomes sensitive to it, and starts ringing about 1 hr after. It should go away within a day, but it it still persists within 5 days, i would go check it out with a doctor to make sure everything is alright, and no serious damage has been casued. But, yeah, its totall normal, as the eardrum and the ear is sensitve to a lit of loud noise. The numbing is just part of the whole thing to do with the ringing, so thats not a problem, just a side affect. Don't worry...the ringing will go away. It's like your eardrum taking some time to settle after extreme noise. The ringing shouldn't last for any more than a day or so - if it does, then you could get it checked. But I'm sure you'll be fine....
