I have a non-rythmic thumping in my left ear that come and goes, could it be pulsatile tinnitus?
I usually hear it when waking up, if I have the hiccups, after running, or after sneezing, then it goes away after 10 minutes. The sound never follows every heartbeat, it usually just comes a half a second after. It'll thump 3 5 times in a row, then stop for 10 seconds, then thump again 3 5 times in a row, and it continues for 10 minutes and stops. Also, it's never painful in any way, just annoying. Is it pulsatile tinnitus?I'm 14 years old and a male if that matters.

Has anyone ever had pulsatile tinnitus? How was it treated?
I have been to the ENT and have a MRI scheduled for tommorrow, but I want to hear from people with personal experience.

People with pulsatile tinnitus: do you get a sharp pain to the head?
I am 17 years old and have pulsatile tinnitus. I have only been noticing the sensation and noise in my left ear for a few months now, and have gone to the ENT about it. I got two MRI's for my brain and arteries, with and without contrast. All is supposedly fine, no problems. The doctors say I have it because I have moderate hearing loss.Anyway, for the past month or so I have been getting headaches that come and go. They're not unbearable, just bothersome. However, now I have been experiencing very sharp pains to my head, usually in the occipital base back of the skull region along in my temporal region side of head, temples . They occur suddenly and last for about 3 to 10 seconds it feels as if someone is jamming a knife into my head. This has occurred in my left ear also. My ENT said I probably will get pain and weird feelings in my ear, but I don't think she said anything like this. Not sharp pain in my head.Should I go to the doctor again? Does anybody else have pulsatile tinnitus, with or without these sensations? Please help.

Are there ways to treat or stop pulsatile tinnitus?
I have had this thumping sound in my ear since November, it goes with my heart beat. I've seen several doctors about it, an ear, nose, throat doctor, an eye doctor, had my blood and urine looked at and had MRI MRA with contrast to look at my veins and head. They haven't found anything wrong that could cause this and they say there is nothing else they can do. So what do I do now? I'm glad nothings wrong but I want the noise to stop, is there any way to make it stop?

Anyone know what to do with 'pulsatile tinnitus'??
Driving me mad every heartbeat is felt and heard in the left ear, like 86,400 beats a day, loud and clear oh, what to do to get some respite from it??????????

Can ear wax cause pulsatile tinnitus?
I have pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear it goes whoosh whoosh whoosh. It's also in my left ear but it's a very faint thump thump thump. I get a lot of wax build up in my ears.Iknow there's a ton of wax in those ears I had them flushed out a month ago or so at a free clinic. But the nurse really didn't do much she only took like 2 minutes those people are always in such a rush I guess so back to my question can the ear wax cause this?? I'd guess I have hard wax pushed up my eardrum. Now the left ear is starting to clog up I've been puttin ear drops and olive oil in my ears hopefully that has soften the wax up. Back to the doctor I go....

Can anyone tell me about pulsatile tinnitus?
It is like a loud heartbeat in my ear...it has been happening on and off for about 2 years now. I did a little searching online and it said it could be pulsatile tinnitus....has anyone else been diagnosed with this, and how does the doc check to see if that is what you have? also...it is in my right ear,and if I press on my neck below my ear it stops...is that weird?

I think I have pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear?
It just started, so I looked it up and it sounds like I have pulsatile tinnitus, which is when you hear your pulse heartbeat in your ear. Mine is odd, though I'll hear it for a few seconds and then it'll go away, then come back a few seconds later. And the beat is irregular, sometimes fast and sometimes slow. Is this a serious problem, should I go to the doctor's for it? I was put on antibiotics because I often get ear infections... should I stop taking the antibiotics because of this? Or could it be the result of yet another ear infection?

Pulsatile tinnitus, have had it for years, never had an MRI?
I have Meniere's Disease and normally just have loud, loud tinnitus in my right ear constantly. I've lost most of the hearing in my right ear. Sometimes, however, it pulses with my heart and this worries me greatly.I was first diagnosed with Meniere's Disease when I was 13 years old. I have seen many doctors. But something that has fallen through the cracks is this when I was 15, I was supposed to have an MRI. However, I got very claustrophobic and could not carry through with it. I was meant to be in again, to be rescheduled, but it fell through the cracks and we all forgot about it.The cause of my pulsatile tinnitus was never found. I had an EKG when I was 16. I am 21 now. Doctors have sort of labelled me " Meniere's Disease" and decided that that is that and there can be no treatment because doctors don't know anything about Meniere's Disease.Lately I am scared that if it is something serious causing the occasional pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear, it has gone undiagnosed for so many years. This terrifies me to the point where I am scared to go in to see the doctor. What could be causing this? What should I do?Could this be genetic? My mom has the same pulsatile tinnitus but has never seen a doctor about it. I didn't know that it could be serious until now, really.

Pulsatile Tinnitus Bad?
I have pulsatile tinnitus in my right ear for nearly a year now , it is so thundering loud sometimes that I can't hear anything else. I saw an ENT doctor who scheduled me for an MRI no dye was used . The ENT said that the results of the MRI showed no arterial irregularities and pretty much left it at that. Several months have now gone by and it if anything it is getting worse could just be psychosomatic though .Should I really spend the money and go through the hassle of getting a second opinion on this since the first doctor dismissed it so casually after receiving the MRI results?

Pulsatile tinnitus or something else?
Sometimes, usually when im really tired i get a sensation of pulsating in one or both ears. It usually does not have a rhythmic beat in tune with the heart and only lasts a few beats at most, and isn't constant.I thought I would also mention I have normal blood pressure. Sometimes under stress it increases to 138 88 or so, but usually right around normal. These really do not seem vascular and it almost feels like it's the actual ear muscle doing it, and not just hearing it, because i feel it too.I have come to the realization that it might not even be pulsatile tinnitus. From what I've read this should be nearly constant. Instead it's more a pressure in the ears that occasionally results in a thump or two. It's worse if my neck is tilted back, as in laying on my stomach and typing on a laptop. Maybe it's more of an inner ear problem, or whatever is causing my visual symptoms flashes of light, light sensitivity, ghosting, trouble focusing
