People with pulsatile tinnitus: do you get a sharp pain to the head?
I am 17 years old and have pulsatile tinnitus. I have only been noticing the sensation and noise in my left ear for a few months now, and have gone to the ENT about it. I got two MRI's for my brain and arteries, with and without contrast. All is supposedly fine, no problems. The doctors say I have it because I have moderate hearing loss.Anyway, for the past month or so I have been getting headaches that come and go. They're not unbearable, just bothersome. However, now I have been experiencing very sharp pains to my head, usually in the occipital base back of the skull region along in my temporal region side of head, temples . They occur suddenly and last for about 3 to 10 seconds it feels as if someone is jamming a knife into my head. This has occurred in my left ear also. My ENT said I probably will get pain and weird feelings in my ear, but I don't think she said anything like this. Not sharp pain in my head.Should I go to the doctor again? Does anybody else have pulsatile tinnitus, with or without these sensations? Please help.

Can caffeine withdrawal cause pulsatile tinnitus (throbbing in ear)?
It's about a week after quitting coffee and my body is not reacting nicelly...I heard that once you quit coffee, the blood flow to your head is much stronger. I have this throbbing in my left ear and am hoping that's all it is.However the reason I quit coffee was because all of the sudden it was making me nauseous and perhaps its due to an ear problem...thanks for help.

I have a non-rythmic thumping in my left ear that come and goes, could it be pulsatile tinnitus?
I usually hear it when waking up, if I have the hiccups, after running, or after sneezing, then it goes away after 10 minutes. The sound never follows every heartbeat, it usually just comes a half a second after. It'll thump 3 5 times in a row, then stop for 10 seconds, then thump again 3 5 times in a row, and it continues for 10 minutes and stops. Also, it's never painful in any way, just annoying. Is it pulsatile tinnitus?I'm 14 years old and a male if that matters.

Can TMJD cause pulsatile tinnitus and ear ache?
I've had pulsatile tinnitus for over 5 years arrrgh . I frequently, but not always hear a whoosh, whoosh of blood flowing nearby my ear. MRIs of the brain and neck have shown nothing, neither did angiograms or ultrasounds. Where should I go next? Also, does this sound like TMJD? I do have tense jaw muscles, and grind my teeth at night. I did feel hear a popping in my jaw once, but mostly its just a slight notchiness... is this what dentists refer to as " clicking?"

Are there ways to treat or stop pulsatile tinnitus?
I have had this thumping sound in my ear since November, it goes with my heart beat. I've seen several doctors about it, an ear, nose, throat doctor, an eye doctor, had my blood and urine looked at and had MRI MRA with contrast to look at my veins and head. They haven't found anything wrong that could cause this and they say there is nothing else they can do. So what do I do now? I'm glad nothings wrong but I want the noise to stop, is there any way to make it stop?

Is it pulsatile tinnitus or not.(i afraid is tumor) hope not?
when my ear touch my pillow sometimes i heard a sound that is in rhythm with my heart.it is not my heartbeat sound but it is the same rate.could it be the pulse near my ear hitting against my ear that is causing the weird sound.i try to use my fingers and move a little on my pillow. i hear a sound that is quite similar to the sound i hear although i am not sure whether they are the same.when i move my head a little the sound usually goes away.at least one year ago i also had the same experience over quite long time.mabey maybetime i can also hear it even when i am not in bed but it stopped for a long 9 monthes 1year or more nothing happens to me so far.does that mean it is not something serious.if i need to go to the doctor , which doctor should i go to. the last doctor i go to say it is ear wax but when they wash out for me i still have the sound.i believe not all doctor is the right choice.how do i describe the sound to my doctor , i don't know how.

Pulsatile Tinnitus and Nausea?
Since this morning I've been getting random waves of nausea, and my face will go kindof pale. I was slightly dizzy but nothing worth complaining about, and after standing up or if I moved to quickly I would feel a little off balance. Then I came home and took a nap, and when I woke up, I was hearing this weird faint creaking noise. At first I was freaking out because it seemed to be coming from my pillow no bed bugs but after a little research I came to the conclusion that I am getting pulsatile tinnitus in my left ear when I am laying down. The ear also seems to be plugged. I havent checked my temperature... Now I am slightly nauseous and I think I have a headache I really dont have headaches so I couldnt tell you that feeling you get if youve been clenching your teeth together for too long. Has anyone had any experiences like this, or any idea what it might be? Thanks in advance.

Pulsatile tinnitus or something else?
Sometimes, usually when im really tired i get a sensation of pulsating in one or both ears. It usually does not have a rhythmic beat in tune with the heart and only lasts a few beats at most, and isn't constant.I thought I would also mention I have normal blood pressure. Sometimes under stress it increases to 138 88 or so, but usually right around normal. These really do not seem vascular and it almost feels like it's the actual ear muscle doing it, and not just hearing it, because i feel it too.I have come to the realization that it might not even be pulsatile tinnitus. From what I've read this should be nearly constant. Instead it's more a pressure in the ears that occasionally results in a thump or two. It's worse if my neck is tilted back, as in laying on my stomach and typing on a laptop. Maybe it's more of an inner ear problem, or whatever is causing my visual symptoms flashes of light, light sensitivity, ghosting, trouble focusing

Pulsatile Tinnitus Help?
I recently was diagnosed with bronchitis. I was given antibiotics for it and I have been taking them for about 3 days. The period of time prior to the diagnosis of bronchitis about 3 weeks included the development of symptoms characteristic of an upper respiratory tract infection. However, one symptom seemed different. I could hear a " whoosh" or rushing sound in my left ear that synced with my heart beat. It has not gone away completely but has improved a bit. Mostly, it can be heard laying down or after working out. I was curious as to whether or not this was pulsatile tinnitus and whether or not it can develop through an upper respiratory tract infection.
