Question: Buzzing in ear...?

I had buzzing, ringing and whooshing sounds in my ear, most on the right last month and my doctor gave me some medicine. It got a little better. But it seems like the buzzing sound is back. It isn't tinnitus though. Because the buzzing usually comes on when there's the air- conditioner or hair dryer, fan, those sorta things. Is it to do with the frequency? Is this called sensitive hearing? Thank you.
