Why do I have tinnitus?
I always assumed that tinnitus was hereditary as my mother has it so i didn't bother to look into it. i later found out that its from loud noises or shock to the ears. i am only 16 and most people who have are over about 25 and got it from loud car accidents or listening to loud music or clubbing. i never listen to loud music so i don't know why i have it? i haven't been officially diagnosed but as far back as i can remember i've had a fairly loud ringing in my ears that gets worse after being in loudish environments. why do i have tinnitus or could it be something else? thanks for answering.
Hearing impaired, now tinnitus?
I'm 15 & lost about 80 % of my hearing in my right ear.All of my mom's aunt's have hearing loss. I know at least one has gradual hearing loss. & when I was 4 I had a rising fever that went up to 103. I remember when I was 5 my friend tried letting me listen to music w ear buds but I couldn't hear it out of one of my ears.So either genetic or fever?I used to have a hearing aid...but I think a friend's dog ate it...Lately I've been hearing a ringing in my left ear a few times a day, it lasts like 30 seconds. I might be hearing it in my right, but I'm not sure. What's going on w the ringing? I don't listen to music loud at all or wear headphones ear buds. I don't use aspirin that much, either.

Can tinnitus go away slowly over time?
I made the mistake of listening to music with ear buds a long time ago and now my ear rings. Can the ringing in my ear go away overtime? I don't use ear buds anymore and the tinnitus doesn't seem to be as worse but there is still ringing.

Can You Get Tinnitus from hearing a certain Frequency?
Ive now figured out I got tinnitus, this is the 2nd day of having it so far. Could it of been caused by this? I downloaded different bass albums, and not at a high volume but more of a medium volume I played a track that went from 40k hz to 0 hz, back and forth again. After that I played a lil system of a down lil loud like i always do but I never had a ringing that has never went away before.when i say 40k 0hz i mean it plays every single frequency back and forth.its just bugging me out how I can always listen to music lil loud all through my life and it has never ever affected me, ive been to tonssss of concerts, then all of a sudden out of no where it hits.I do remember, when i was listening to that track, i listened to it about 4 5 times, it was pretty tight. But I have a logitech z 5500 system in a stereo surround setup and when it was hitting the high volumes 1k and up I could feel it hitting my ear, like reflecting off my ear in a way. its hard to describe, you have to have a good system.now that I think of it, it started almost exactly after that.well i was honeslty hoping that what was happening was something differnet then full blown tinnitus from sound damage... so i guess im screwed, oh well it was a good life.

Tinnitus Anyone with good advice?
It's Been 6 Days Now And The Ringing In My Left Ear Has NOT Stoped. Sometimes it is a hissing small hissing sometimes loud hissing but then goes back to ringing. Is this going to be permanant? im sure its from loud music unfortunatly. I mean is there a possibility that my ears are " healing" and can get better. Also another thing thats driving me insane is my tinnitus will be somewhat fine then when i turn on music to cover it up the tinnitus gets louder as the tv, music gets louder... its driving me nuts.
Will my Tinnitus go away once my ear infection has stopped?
I started getting tinnitus on wednesday and I was concerned it was because I had been listening to music too loud. I went to my local GP today and the doctor told me that both of my eardrums are red. He has has given me 1 week's worth of " Amoxicillin" which will supposedly get rid of the infection. Will my Tinnitus continue after the infection has died down, despite the fact that the Tinnitus was casued by an infection and not by exposure to loud music?
